The stress of anti-Black racism and sexism can take a toll on Black women’s health irrespective of their socioeconomic status. Despite the gross racial disparities in health, which indicate that Black women experience consistently higher rates of health problems, spaces dedicated to the improvement of their health and wellness are few and far between.

Black women need healthcare providers who are trained and committed to Hearing and Understanding their unique Experiences. Health In Her HUE is a space for black women to be informed and empowered when making choices pertaining to their health.

We take a holistic approach to health and wellness, that involves careful consideration of the social factors that impact Black women's health, including their economic stability, their education, their community context and their access to health care. We take this approach because we are keenly aware of the fact that health outcomes are determined by a number of factors that go beyond access to care.

We strive to empower Black women by connecting them to the services and resources that will enable them to live full and healthy lives, while bringing awareness to health and wellness issues in a relevant and accessible way.
